We remove the barriers that keep children out of school—poverty, hunger, unsafe environments—and replace them with opportunity, dignity, and hope.

For over 20 years, we’ve worked hand-in-hand with Cambodian families to build a model that goes beyond the classroom. We address the full picture—economic hardship, food insecurity, lack of access to clean water, and the emotional toll of poverty—so that every child can thrive.

Meeting Basic Needs

Empowering Education Starts with Nourishment

At The Global Child, we believe no child should have to choose between a meal and an education. That’s why we start by meeting the most essential needs—because a hungry child can’t learn, and a struggling parent can’t support their child’s future.

We provide nutritious meals, clean water, and safe shelter to our students and their families. This holistic support system removes the daily burdens of survival, allowing children to focus on learning and families to focus on growth. By addressing food insecurity and basic health, we lay the foundation for long-term educational success and community resilience.

Education

Turning Classrooms into Gateways of Opportunity

Education is the most powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty—but for many, attending school means giving up income. We bridge that gap by offering $1 per day for school attendance, replacing the need for child labor with the promise of a brighter future.

Our students receive full support: housing, healthcare, meals, clothing, and school supplies. Our curriculum, aligned with Cambodia’s national standards, is enriched with English, technology, arts, music, and extracurriculars like soccer and traditional dance. We’re also pioneering STEM and digital learning to prepare students for a global future.

From primary school to university or vocational training, we walk with our students every step of the way—until they’re employed, empowered, and ready to lead.

Leadership

Inspiring the Next Generation of Changemakers

We don’t just educate students—we empower leaders. Our leadership programs are designed to cultivate confidence, compassion, and a deep sense of community responsibility.

Through mentorship, sports, and service projects, our students learn to lead by example. Whether they’re organizing virtual study clubs, teaching health and hygiene, or coaching soccer, they’re building a culture of giving back.

These young leaders are proof that education is more than academics—it’s a catalyst for community transformation. They are the heartbeat of our mission, driving change not just for themselves, but for Cambodia’s future.

Community

Building Stronger Communities, One Family at a Time

At The Global Child, we know that lasting change doesn’t stop at the school gates. That’s why we invest in entire communities—creating safe, supportive environments where students and families can thrive.

Our community programs include mentorship, emergency aid, livelihood training, and financial literacy. We engage former street workers and parents through both in-person and digital outreach, sparking a ripple effect of empowerment.
