The Beauty of Collaboration.
SEEING THINGS IN A DIFFERENT LIGHT
During a recent session of The Global Child’s “Social Time,” we transformed and recycled old water bottles into true works of art used to decorate our school.
This project aimed to utilize the kids’ creativity, help save our environment, and build camaraderie among the students and staff. It was also a great way to show how recycling and reusing everyday materials is possible and cost-effective.
SPREADING THE WEALTH IN OUR COMMUNITY
At TGC we recognize the importance of giving back to our community. Many of our kids were in situations before coming to The Global Child, where they were lacking basic skills and education.
Through our Student Mentorship Program, in just one day we reached 60 children in the local villages to give back. They assist the kids in building reading skills and also offered them a cooking lesson. During this lesson, the children were taught how to make a beef and chicken soup with mushrooms and vegetables.
REVITALIZING OUR SCHOOL
This week, the students spent time outside beautifying the school grounds. From gardening to painting the exterior to general upkeep, the experience helped not only build important skills but also showed the importance of caring for one’s school, home, and community. This also allowed the students to have another creative outlet as they explore and identify their strengths and activities that interest them the most.
