As part of the government’s push for STEM education in schools, we conducted a school-wide survey and informal interviews with our students to gauge how STEM education is perceived at TGC. The purpose of this survey was two-part, (1) to inform the Cambodian government and education system on how to best implement STEM education and (2) to improve our educational offerings at TGC and better prepare our students for the digital age in which we lived.

The findings were used as a model for Cambodian STEM education, a starting place to explore gender barriers, a mechanism to design educational programs, and a means to seek funding. Our hope is by making the results public we can aid government education officials, public schools, and other NGOs how to best engage students in STEM education and ensure they are prepared to fill the considerable digital gap and job openings in STEM throughout Cambodia.
