Life has been tough for me. I once thought I would never have the chance to pursue higher education, but luckily, in 2017, I became part of The Global Child (TGC), which changed my academic life completely. Before TGC, my family faced financial struggles that disrupted my education, leaving my future uncertain. However, TGC provided more than just learning; it gave me direction. Through many programs that have been provided, I discovered my passion and found a supportive community that helped me grow to be a better person.
After graduating in 2024, TGC’s support continued. With their guidance, I passed my university entrance exam and secured a scholarship from Child’s Dream Cambodia Network, easing my financial worries in Phnom Penh city. Now, as a freshman at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, majoring in International Relations at the Institute for International Studies and Public Policy (IISPP), I am eager to embrace new challenges and opportunities here.
I would say that my life in Phnom Penh and at university was greatly shaped by TGC. I graduated from TGC not only with a solid education but also with important life skills. The English and computer skills I gained were especially valuable, both as a student and while working in the student community here. I adapted quickly to life here, and I didn’t need to take any extra courses because TGC had already prepared me well.
TGC not only transformed my education but also instilled in me the confidence to pursue my dreams. I will always be grateful for their unwavering encouragement, belief in me, and the invaluable experiences that shaped my journey.
I’m proud to be part of the TGC family. I will always be grateful for all your support. Without you, I wouldn’t be the better version of myself that I am today.
